Diversity in the  Classroom   & Why it is Important By Chloe Croteau What is Diversity in the Classroom Important? Diversity is what makes us different from others around us. This could be our gender, sexuality, cultural background, religion, etc. Having a diverse classroom allows students, and even the teacher, to learn about others. In turn, students can develop compassion for peers who are diverse. Leaning about others can also lower the chances of stereotyping* happening. Students can also learn how to use their strengths when working with others.  Example- A project is assigned about different parts of the world, and a student from China is able to use their knowledge on their background as a strength to help their group members. The peers are able to learn about their classmate, as well as gain a better understanding on the project! * Stereotyping -   to believe unfairly that all people or things with a particular characteristic are the same .  MARKETING PERSPECTIVE  By Chloe Croteau I think we can all agree social media becomes more consuming each year. It is astonishing how quick influencers rise to fame. When an influencer becomes popular, everyone is so quick to watch their every more, buy the same clothes, and eat the same food as them. Many influencers have hundreds of thousands of followers, and receive millions of views. They make a post regarding their every move.  After reading the 60 Minute transcript about influencers, I realized just how much of an impact these people make on everyday life. I know Kim Kardashian from Keeping up with the Kardashians. These three influencers have gotten a view or like from me more times than I can count. It is crazy how their rise to fame started from just living their l...

Day in the Life

A Day in the Life of Chloe q uestion & answer Q: What sites and/or applications do you visit most often?  A: As a 20 year old college student just starting school, I feel the only acceptable answer to this question is Instagram, Snapchat, and Tik Tok. Yes, yes, basic of course. What else would I do this summer with the weather being so indecisive! I use Instagram to make story posts of the few exciting things I've done this summer. Also, to look at all my friends adventures they've gone on this summer! Snapchat is of course to send silly faces to close friends. That's what we all use it for... right? I feel this one has an obvious reason as well. Tik Tok is used to send my boyfriend a bunch of videos that he will never look at, but of course tell me "of course I watched all the videos you sent me today!".  Q: Do you have positive or negative reactions when using certain types of...
